Tips for Visiting Disneyland Paris

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Disneyland was one of the first vacations I remember going on as a child. My parents had just divorced, and I remember the morning we flew down to Orlando my mother dropped us off at school and picked us up a few hours later saying she had a surprise for us. By the end of the night we were at our family friends Sue and Cheryl’s house in Orlando in a room of Disney memorabilia.

If you follow me on Instagram ( @OhRoseTravels BTW) you’re ahead of the game as I went to Disneyland Paris in October. I’m sorry I’m behind in posting this but the holidays are crazy! Better late than never so I hope you enjoy!

Fair warning, this advice is from someone who went without children so all advice is based towards travelers going without kids. While the advice could easily be adapted to travelers with kids, it will be different.

Take the RER A from the city!

It’ll cost you less than 10 euros each way and takes about an hour, unless you’re like me and accidentally get off on the wrong stop. Then you might end up with another 30 minutes to the trip out.

Book tickets in advance

My best friend and I purchased our tickets 1 month before hand and it was cheaper than at the gate. We decided to only stay in one park and saved 10 euros because of that but if I could go back, I’d purchase the 1 day/2 parks pass. Going during the week on the “MINI” day is a great way to save money too.

Skip the Parade, ride the rides without the line.

If you’re going to Disneyland without children, or if they’re uninterested in the parade – skip it! I found that we were able to skip over half the wait times by not stopping to sit for the parade.

Take Advantage of the FastPass

The FastPass is free to all visitors of Disneyland, but the catch is that you can only use it during a certain time slot. It’ll say a certain time with a 30 minute window, but if you look at the bottom it’ll say “Another FastPass will be available at: XX:XX” That time is a great moment get your next fast pass before heading over to the ride you had the original FastPass for.

I found that Hyperspace Mountain was one of the major rides that I’m happy to have had a FastPass for as the line did get long fast.

Download the Disneyland Paris App!

If you’re ever wondering how long another ride is, or what is closed, or any of your other Disney questions check the Disney App. It’s a great way to figure out where to start your day and what is closest to you.

Plus, if any of the characters come out, you’ll be the first to know!

The end of the night fireworks is one of my favorite parts of Disneyland but with knowing that we would be traveling an hour back into the city, so after getting our Fireworks fill, make your way to the RER A and relax until you get into the city!

The end of the night is always the most tiring, and when traveling I’m okay with missing a couple minutes towards the end if it means dealing with less of a crowd on an hour long train ride abck into the city.

Bring a Bag

Before leaving the city, I recommend picking up a few sandwiches from the market along with a water bottle (EMPTY) so you can save money while in the park. They have great food but if you’re on a budget it’s not the place to eat.

Disneyland is a magical place to visit and I hope you’ve enjoyed these tips! If you have any questions or have any tips for my next visit, leave a comment down below!
